Uw ATM PIN is één van de tien meest populaire?

Als het gaat om computerbeveiliging, is randomness onze vriend. Ons systeem van vier cijfers persoonlijke identificatienummers of PINs, is ontworpen voor gebruik van de 10.000 verschillende viercijferige codes beschikbaar op een 0-9 toetsenblok om dicht bij onmogelijk maken voor dieven te raden wat we hebben gekozen. Te slecht, data mining consultant die Nick Berry erop wijst, vertonen mensen “een onthutsend gebrek aan verbeeldingskracht bij het selecteren van codes” bescherming van hun meest gevoelige financiële informatie. In een recente post op zijn bedrijf blog, Berry, gekozen voorzitter van gegevens genetica, gepresenteerd bewijs dat 1234, de meest gebruikte PIN, bijna 11 procent van de tijd. De rest van de 20 beste PIN keuzes waren even voorspelbaar, loopt van 0000 1010 op No. 20 op No. 2 tot en met 6969 (nr. 10).
